Licensed Merchandise Workflow
There are many types of IP licensing: merchandising, Character & Entertainment Licensing, Brand & Trademark Licensing, Sports & Lifestyle Licensing, thematic licensing, channel licensing, and promotional licensing. When Jution receives a request for licensed products, the first step is to verify the official license certificate or proof of the client’s status as an authorized licensee and time within the licensor’s system. Subsequently, we initiate our in-house workflow:
1. IP & Product Concept Review
When you share your IP artwork, product concept, reference samples, target market, and estimated quantity with Jution. Our team reviews the design, silicone material requirements, production feasibility, compliance needs, and potential manufacturing risks before development begins.
2. Engineering & Manufacturing Evaluation
Our engineers evaluate the product structure, dimensions, wall thickness, mold design, color requirements, surface details, and production process. We identify potential issues early and recommend practical solutions to make the licensed design suitable for stable mass production.
3. Prototype & Sample Development
Based on the approved concept, we develop prototypes or production samples for evaluation. Customers can review the shape, color, texture, character details, logo placement, and functionality before proceeding to final tooling and mass production.
4. Licensor Approval Support
For licensed IP products, samples may need to be submitted to the licensor for approval. Jution can cooperate with licensees during the sample revision process, helping implement required changes and maintain consistency with approved artwork and product specifications.
5. Tooling & Production Preparation
After design approval, we proceed with production tooling and manufacturing preparation. Our engineering team confirms mold specifications, silicone materials, colors, decoration processes, quality standards, and approved samples before starting mass production.
6. Safety Testing & Certification
Jution supports applicable third-party SGS, Intertek, BV testing based on the product category and target market. Depending on the project, testing may include FDA, LFGB, CPSIA, ASTM, EN71, CE, REACH, Prop 65, and other applicable requirements.
7. Pilot Production & Quality Verification
Before full-scale production, pilot production can be arranged to verify the manufacturing process and product consistency. We inspect dimensions, appearance, color, functionality, molding quality, and other critical specifications against the approved sample.
8. Mass Production & Quality Control
Once the product passes all required approvals and testing, our production team begins mass manufacturing. Quality control is maintained throughout material inspection, molding, finishing, assembly, inspection, and final shipment to ensure consistency with the approved product.
